Mia's kitten Update

Herbie at nearly a year.

Devil eyed babies! still looking cute! Sleepy kitten
Now this is cute!

Thought you might like a little up date, as to what the new babies are going to grow up to be like, the first photo is of Herbie at nearly a year old, The others are of his true siblings, the litter born 21.11.11, to the same mating of Tyler and Mia. They are all growing fast and eating well although very messily! But are sure to be as gorgeous as Herbie when they grow up.

Ragdoll Cat "Must Haves"!

I was looking at www.ragdoll-rescue.co.uk and saw a very good article that I thought I would share with any prospective owners. Every cat’s owner "Must have" list:
Scratching Post/tree – preferably big and heavy as Ragdolls do get very large in size and weight.
Feeding bowls – the best are ceramic or metal as it is very easy to keep them clean (without scratching the surface where bacteria could multiply). Always wash the bowl after every feeding.
Food – healthy diet is the most imprtant aspect of cat’s health. Make sure You are choosing Premium cat food (always read the label at the back of the pack) avoid supermarket foods as they contain very poor quality ingreedients. Bear in mind that Your cat is a carnivore and needs meat to survive, also avoid feeding dry kibbles only as this can lead to kidney problems.
Water bowls/fountains – fresh, drinking water must be accesible at all times, wash the bowl every day before filling with fresh water.
Litter tray – there’s a big choice of litter trays, some cats prefer hooded trays while others like to use classic open ones. Always ask breeder\previous owner which litter tray the cat is used to.
Litter – again a big choice, it is advisable to use the litter that cat is used to as radical changes may cause problems. If You want to change the litter always do it gradualy by mixing a cup of new litter with old one in the litter tray, slowly increasing amounts.
Grooming kit – the best choice would be a metal pin brush and metal comb. Soft brush is a good choice for kittens and cats with sensitive skin. Baby powder used regulary helps to keep the coat clean and prevents matting.
Toys – Ragdolls love to play with their toys a lot of them can play fetch. They love soft balls, lasers, and squeeky mice toys. Always check if the toy is safe for your cat (avoid plastic bags, foil ribbons and small parts).
Cat bed – Most cat owners let their cats sleep in their beds ☺ but if You prefer Your cat to sleep outside Your bedroom You must provide it a nice warm big sized cat bed or soft thick blanket.

He is so wonderful , I just had to share the photo's taken this morning while he was playing with his mouse as they show what fab dark blue eyes he has. WE are all doing well this end on Friday at a week old Tiny Tim Weighed in at 103gms ! Which is absolutely brilliant, especially as I haven't been supplement his feeds since last Tuesday! To put it into perspective Sopretty had her Kitten ( yes only one again!) in the early hours of Friday Morning and it weighed in at 102gms! You can see the difference in his size when you look at him now against Missy's foot and at 3 days!

Missy Update

There is good news and bad news! Little Tiny is still fighting and weighed in at 63g this morning, you can see how small he is when you compair him to Missy. So fingers crossed he keeps going well, early days yet I know but he's even more important to me now I know that he will be Missy's last. Poor Missy had to have her womb removed today as it was strangulated , having twisted around it's self so there was no way the others could have got out , which is why the Oxitocine didn't work. She has come through the operation I have to collect them both at 2.30.

KT kitten Update

All the babies are big , beautiful and full of mischeif! Here are some photo's I caught this morning of Cadbury ( Seal ) , Henry ( Tabby) and Caramel (Tortie) having fun playing !

Missy ! No sleep last night!

Missy had a very tiny kitten last night , only weighed 56g!! Early, but it has some fight as it weighs 60g this evening and is still with us! I spent the whole night up with her expecting some more but no show. So it was off to the vets this morning for a scan. sadly although there appears to be another couple in there there were no signs of life so she has had some injections to hope fully enable her to pass them with out having to open her up! It's at times like these when your exhausted you wonder why you put them and you through such heartache ! So please think positive thoughts for tiny one to have the strenght to keep going and Missy to go through the next few hours successfully. Looks as if I'll be up all night again tonight.

Naughty KT!!

I have to admit to a security issue! 11 weeks ago KT decided that she wanted to find her own mate , and fancied a bit of rough dispite the fact that I had a fabulous boy lined up for her! So she escaped through one of the small windows in the conservatory and arrived back next morning very pleased with her self and no longer calling!!! 2 weeks ago she gave birth to 4 little cuties so I can be too cross with her even though it puts my breeding program in chaos for her this year! So if you are after a half ragdoll kitten, please get in touch there are to dark chocolate ( not really black- one of each sex , a tortie and tabbie- male.

Exciting news!

I had this email today which I just had to share with you! Sookie was Joy and Tylers kitten from last year.........................................
Hi Tanya, apologies for not being in touch recently, I can't believe it's August already! Anyway I thought I'd let you know that Sookie is 'ragdoll of the week' on one of the websites I really like, there are lots of pictures of her and some stories if you'd like to see how she is doing. http://www.floppycats.com/sookie-ragdoll-of-the-week.html Also I take so many photos that I decided to start my own blog, so Sookie and Mr Darcy now have their own site! It's only a bit of fun but I'm quite enjoying it and some people have even sent me their own pictures to do a story on. If you know of anyone as mad about cats as me who'd like to show off their cats, please do point them in my direction! I hope you and the family are all keeping well, I still enjoy seeing your updates on all of the kitties on the blog. Laurawww.kitcaboodles.blogspot.com=^..^=
